Master Cafe Review: 3 delicious iced coffee flavours, which is your favourite?

I have recently been kindly gifted some iced coffee in three exciting flavours, courtesy of new UK brand, Master Cafe. Being a Mum with a 10 month old who is currently going through teething, I can tell you the caffeine is extremely appreciated!! They come in cute individual cans, perfect for on-the-go whilst being fully recyclable and the taste is great! Which would be your go-to flavour?

Classico Iced Coffee

The Classico iced coffee is the Master Cafe’s strongest iced coffee option with 32% coffee extract. Initially I thought given this has less milk that this would be my least favourite – but in a complete twist, it turns out I prefer this compared to the latte due to it being less sweet in taste. The flavour is a really nice drinkable coffee taste, it’s a good coffee balance and quite creamy in consistency. I can imagine grabbing one of these on a warm summers day as my new go-to rather than a coffee when it’s too hot.

Ingredients in the Classico Master Cafe Iced Coffee

This product is made from the following list which was taken from the Master Cafe website for accuracy:

Ingredients: Water, Coffee Extract (32%), Cane Sugar, Whole Milk Powder, Hydroxyl Propyl Starch, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Bicarbonate), Emulsifier*: (Sucrose Esters of Fatty Acids), Flavourings. All additives are 100% plant based

Mocha Iced Coffee

The Mocha is a delicious mix of coffee and chocolate. It’s not overly sweet, but is enough of a sweetness to cure any sweet cravings! The consistency is quite thick and creamy which I really like, you just have to make sure you shake it before opening to ensure it’s properly mixed, as you do with all three flavours. I’ve never had a mocha iced coffee before, but I think it works really well and is a handy sugar boost perhaps after a gym session!

This product is made from the following list which was taken from the Master Cafe website for accuracy:

Water, Coffee Extract (25.60%), Cane Sugar, Whole Milk Powder, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Bicarbonate), Emulsifiers*: (E471; Sucrose Esters of Fatty Acids), Flavourings, Preservatives: (Potassium Sorbate). All additives are 100% plant based

Latte Iced Coffee

To me, the latte iced coffee can stands out the most with this gorgeous blue design. It is more milkier than the Classico, and given this, seems to be slightly sweeter too. So whilst it tops the list in design, for me this is my least favourite out of the three flavours.

Ingredients in the Latte Master Cafe Iced Coffee

This product is made from the following list which was taken from the Master Cafe website for accuracy:

Ingredients: Water, Coffee Extract (24.80%), Cane Sugar, Whole Milk PowderNon-Dairy Creamer (Hydrogenated Coconut Oil), Acidity Regulator (Sodium Bicarbonate), Emulsifiers*: (E471; E481; Sucrose Esters of Fatty Acids), Flavourings, Stabilisers*: (E466). All additives are 100% plant based

What coffee is used in the iced coffees?

The coffee used in these iced coffee cans are a blend of Arabica coffee beans which is used to add the sweetness and also Robusta coffee beans to intensify the coffee flavour. It does contain dairy, but Master Cafe says this is quite a low quantity – so this means it isn’t suitable for vegans unfortunately.

Which is my favourite Master Cafe Iced Coffee?

For me, my favourite has to be the Mocha Iced Coffee. I think if I’m out on the go particularly when it’s a hot day then as a nice delicious treat I’d definitely pick one of these up, but it is closely followed by the Classico. I really like that the iced coffee’s are packaged in tin cans rather than using any plastic, so whilst they are single use, they are recyclable which is great.

The Master Cafe brand is owned by Snax Emporium that was founded in May 2019. Master Cafe is the first of many brands to hit the UK. They say they have more products in the pipeline for 2020/2021 so watch this space for more exciting food and drink products! Keep an eye on their instagram @mastercafeuk for more info.

As a product development in the future, I’d love to see Master Cafe using a plant-based milk in their products so they can appeal to everyone including vegans. It might add an additional flavour element into the drinks too.
