These crunchy roasted chickpea’s are a really tasty and rather healthy snack, as an alternative to shop bought crisps or nuts. Great for a pre-BBQ or before a roastie nibble with a nice G&T! They are very quick and easy to make too.
- Tin of chickpeas (quantity entirely up to you – I use a small can for 2 people)
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Sprinkle of paprika
- Salt & Pepper
How to make the paprika chickpea’s
Step 1: Drain the chickpeas and rinse well. Make sure they are well-drained.
Step 2: Put into an oven roasting dish and drizzle with a little olive oil.
Step 3: To season, sprinkle paprika (I use quite a bit), salt and pepper. I then toss around in the dish and repeat so they have a good amount of seasoning. If you want them a little spicy then add a light sprinkle of chilli flakes.
Step 4: Ensure all the chickpeas are flat in the dish before popping in the oven, so they all cook evenly.
Step 5: Roast in the oven at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes. You want them to be nice and roasted, so feel free to leave them in for another 10 minutes to get them a little crispier if you fancy. I keep checking on them regularly, giving a little shake around in the dish periodically. Don’t forget to let them cool a little before serving.
Hope you enjoy them! If you like these, you may also like the potato peel salt and pepper crisps too that are a fantastic alternative to shop-bought crisps.
